Your role and responsibilities
In this role, you will have the opportunity to gain vocational experience through a temporary work placement (6 months). Each day, you will acquire knowledge by performing tasks as directed. You will also showcase your expertise by supporting ABB’s operations and enhancing personal education/employment opportunities.The work model for the role is: onsite #LI-OnsiteThis role is contributing to the experimental team at the ABB corporate research center in Baden-Dättwil, Aargau, Switzerland. In this 6-month internship you will support the research team in experimental tasks. These include CAD preparation, hands-on work in assembling and development of novel concepts for low/medium voltage switchgear. The intern will join the experimental team in the laboratory to test the developed solutions.You will be mainly responsible for:•Construction of experimental setups•Participating in designing of the novel concepts for low and medium voltage switchgear•Executing experimental tasks within the ABB research team•Evaluating experimental results and performing data analysis
Qualifications for the role
- You currently pursue a degree (advanced B.Sc. or M.Sc.) in electrical/mechanical engineering or related subject
- You have hands-on experience in experimental work in a lab
- You are proficient in CAD software or willing to learn it
- You are able to work in a large research team
- You are at ease communicating in English
- Non-EU/non-EFTA citizens, please note that a certificate from your university, showing that an internship is a mandatory part of your studies, is required for the visa application
